I consider myself, among many other things, an amateur foodie and an urban adventurer. I love good food and a good bargain any day of the week. So yesterday my sister and I, along with a few friends, ventured into Downtown LA for a little adventure at Smorgasburg. Smorgasburg is this amazing food market that opened only on Sundays from 10-4pm. There are tons of different food vendors that change weekly. Although there are some veteran vendors who are there almost every Sunday.
Going to Smorgasburg almost feels like a foodies version of going to Disney. Because the food can sell out my sister and I always like to get there early. We wait along with a small crowd for the gates to open, the anticipation and hunger at the front of my mind. Once the gates open everyonemakes a mad dash to their favorite vendor.
Yesterday I went straight for Shrimp Daddy‘s booth and finally got my hands on one of their famous pineapple shrimp boats. I also tried some sweet corn flavored ice cream at the pop up ice cream row at Smorgasburg. I had to top it off with a Matcha iced tea and some Matcha Aloe water before heading out.
I think it’s safe to say I will be coming back another Sunday for more amazing food. If you love food and fun you need to go to Smorgasburg one Sunday and find something new that inspires your tastebuds and makes you happy.
